V&A

I recently visited the V&A museum to gather research and found out about what they display, and how it presents itself.
I enjoyed the Experience of looking at Art from all different cultures but found there wasn't much for the younger generation, and the exhibition that was, I didn't have enough time to visit which was the decode: digital design sensations, so I will have to go visit the museum in my free time and researching the Science museum I would really like to visit there on the same day because the museums are opposite each other and in my opinion it seems more interesting and has more modern equipment.
I have been given a project from the V&A to design a poster about what ever you like to be honest it just has to main the poster around the V&A, but unfortunately only been given a short amount of time to design this poster so will keep you updated with my final designs.

Here is a link for the V&A if you want to check out the website and to give you details, if you want to visit the museum yourself:

Interesting Website

Whilst researching into Herb Lubalin I found a very interesting website showing creative posters and art for advertisement. Have a look at the art they have posted and see what you think.
The website is called:

Here is a couple of examples of art that is on the website.

Websites

I looked into finding flash websites and came across:
http://www.thefwa.com/
This displays the best flash awards and below is some good examples i have found like Jim Carrey's website http://www.jimcarrey.com/

Also Orange website: http://friendometer.orange.co.uk/

One of my final packaging designs

For my packaging project I decided to design packaging for DKNY to create a fragrance called DKNY Man and DKNY Woma. I looked into styles to base my design on then came across Roy Lichtenstein's work and thought it would be perfect to have a comic book style inside the packaging then on the outside have a modern, clean cut surface graphics and in my opinion the designs came out successful but unsure if the two designs will mix once produced together ?

Formats for Web design

Fla = Adobe Flash
Flash is commonly used to create animation, advertisements, and various web page Flash components, to integrate video into web pages, and more recently, to develop rich Internet applications.

Html = HyperText Markup Language
Used to create documents on the Web, There are hundreds of other tags used to format and layout the information in a Web page. To create a Html to go on the World Wide Web you go onto Adobe Dreamweaver.

For my web design I think I will be using Adobe Flash instead of Adobe Dreamweaver because Dreamweaver is a very lengthy process, unlike flash where what you see is what you get.

Graphics Formats I use.

Psd = Photoshop Data
Adobe Photoshop, or simply Photoshop, is a graphics editing program developed and published by Adobe Systems.

Ai = Adobe Illustrator
A CS4 software is a comprehensive vector graphics environment with new transparency in gradients and multiple artboards that invite you to explore more efficient ways to design.

Indd = Adobe Indesign
A CS4 software breaks down the barriers between online and offline publishing. Create compelling print layouts, immersive content for playback in the Adobe Flash® Player runtime, and interactive PDF documents.

Jpg = Joint Photographic Experts Group

Pronounced jay-peg. JPEG is a lossy compression technique for colour images. Although it can reduce files sizes to about 5% of their normal size, some detail is lost in the compression, usually done so the information can get transferred to the web.

Gif = graphics interchange format
Similar to Jpeg, Gif is also used mostly for the Web but the can only compress the image a limited amount of colours which is about 256 colours but is more effective for scanned images such as illustrators, not so much photos

Png = Portable Network Graphics
Pronounced ping, a new bit-mapped graphics format similar to GIF meant to replace the older format being GIF.
